Visit to a 2nd IIT, IIT Guwahati... & still counting to complete the ha-trick

4th of september - Marked as the day , we brought glory to our college NITA after a meritorious victory in the arena of IIT Guwahati's tech fest "TECHNICHE" . The competiion was named "DREDGE & DROP" & our bot's name was "EXCAVATOR GENERATION 4 (cause that was our 4th successful model)"
Here are some of the photographs that will certainly explain our journey.

The partially completed bot with 3 pairs of wheel to avoid obstacles (we thought will be there, bt there was none).

The bot has to carry max of sand in minimum of the time from a sand pit , going through  a 3cm wide reverse curve track to the deposition pit..

The back view of the bot (It has got nice edges, isn't it right)

He's got really famous ,( since we took soo much snaps of him during his making only .. .)

Wow look at it !!! Isn't it huge , But actually just 25 by 25 by 30 cms

Loos like some kind of  alien headed bot . euww!!!

While entering the campus we just got a click of the sponsors there...

Avinash (team mate) Holding up to keep the wire slack during the practice session
The testing of the bot in The hot sun :(

Believe me that's no photoshop trick , I clicked it really (While travelling through train to Guwahati )

We tested this baby right upto it's limit & that why he performed so well there

from here I'll not say a word for the next three pictures.. It's there campus guyz!!!! ... I just don't wanna recall it , it's painful when you are back from there

Rajbansh (Another fellow from EE deptt. ) with his head down helping our juniors preparing their bot for robosoccer event there

I'am not a bad DJ after all ..( You can get it from here I guess :P)

The finished bot , But the plexis aren't yet exposed of the stickers

Oh poor guy!! .. down with his PWM circuit

It's really heavy guyz ..believe me ... It's       got 10 motors mounted on it

Look at their faces ...BOOOOSSYYYY ... he was really happy... we helped  making their kicking mechanism

He our Bot operator (Upendra, CSE deptt.)

That's Avinash with a head phone on his neck

We had been allotted this room in one of the hostel's premise (Probably that was their table tennis room for that hostel)

This photo was taken at the very initial phase when we were
building the continuous sand picking mechanism at the college
workshop

The skeleton of that mechanism

Hamari ROBOT bali maggie

You can see me trying out different  mechanisms when we did not had that caterpillar tracks to move in the sand

                                            These caterpillar tracks rescued us

earlier we tried with fabric custom made belts.. but they kept on slipping as we continued for long time moves

this is the tank for the sand deposit made out of plexi ..
that gear motor opens up the door for dumping up the sand

This was Rajbansh's room (turned into a part time workshop)
